John E. Owens          

John E. Owens, "Jack," was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 6, 1936, and is President of Owens, Owens & Rinn, Ltd., a professional corporation, with offices at 444 North Northwest Highway, Park Ridge, Illinois.

Jack received his pre-legal education at Loyola University, Chicago, Illinois, where he was awarded his Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance in 1958. In addition, Jack received his legal education at DePaul University College of Law where he graduated with a Juris Doctor Degree in 1962. Subsequently, Jack attended post-graduate courses in taxation and estate planning at the Lawyers Institute, John Marshall Law School.

Jack's practice involves Estate Planning, Corporate, and Real Estate Zoning with experience gain over some 40 years of practice in these areas.

Jack is a member of the Delta Theta Phi International Law Fraternity, 1962 to present and is a Past National Chancellor (President) having served the years 1975-77, and is Chair of the Audit, Budget, and Finance Committee of that National Fraternity.

Jack is also a member of the Chicago Catholic Lawyers Association and the National Association of Elder Lawyers.

Jack was also a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the American and Chicago Immigration Lawyers Association.

NON-LEGAL:

Jack is married to Christel B. Owens, has five children, and resides in Park Ridge, Illinois.

Jack is a Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Park Ridge (Noon); Past Chair of the Finance Committee, former Deputy Committeeman of the Maine Township Republic Party, and a former Park Ridge Republican precinct captain.  Jack also served four years as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Park Ridge YMCA and as a member of the Board, and is currently a member of the Board of the Leaning Tower YMCA in Niles, and has served as Chair of its Board of Directors from 1997 to 1999 and is the current Chair of Major Capital Fund Drive for 2000.

Jack is a member of St. Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge, Illinois, and serves as an extraordinary minister of Communion, and a minister of Care, and served as Chair of the Church Finance Committee, from 1985 to the 1998.

Jack has worked with B.S.A. Troop One in Park Ridge and worked as its Finance Chair for a number of years and also as camping coordinator for several years. Jack also served as the Chair of the First Annual Local B.S.A. Award Presentation to George L. Scharringhausen, Jr. several years ago. Jack received the Second Annual Local B.S.A. Service Award.

Jack is a Board Member of the Park Ridge Senior Services, Inc. and serves as its former Chair.

Denis J. Owens

Denis J. Owens, was born in Chicago, Illinois, on January 1, 1940, and is Vice-President of Owens, Owens & Rinn, Ltd., a professional corporation, with offices at 444 North Northwest Highway, Park Ridge, Illinois.

Denis received his pre-legal education at the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana where he was awarded his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting in 1961.  In addition, Denis received his legal education at DePaul University College of Law where he graduated with a Juris Doctor Degree in 1964.  Denis attended post-graduate courses in taxation and estate planning at the Lawyers Institute, John Marshall Law School, and most recently attended the Heckerling Institute conducted by the University of Miami Law School.  Denis was a member of the United State Army Reserve, from 1964 to 1970 when he was discharged with honorable mention at the rank of Captain, in the Judge Advocate General.  

Denis is a member of the following professional Associations:

American Bar Associations, Membership and Bar Activities - Committee on Taxation 1970 to Present, Northwest Suburban Bar Association.  Served on the Membership Committee, Social Committee, Finance Committee, Real Estate Committee, Chaired the Probate Committee, Public Service Committee, Budget Committee and Served on the Board of Governors

Denis' practice involves Probate, Taxation, Estate Planning, and Real Estate with over 37 years of experience in these areas.

Denis is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, the Northwest Suburban Estate Planning Council and the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Chicago.

Denis is a member of the Delta Theta Phi International Law Fraternity.  Denis served as Chicago Alumni Senate District Chancellor 1972-1975, Board of Governors 1976-1984, Vice Dean 1974 and Dean 1975.

Denis is married to Maureen Owens, has three children, and resides in Park Ridge, Illinois.  Denis is a member of St. Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge, Illinois.

Denis is a member of the Lions Club of Park Ridge, Illinois, and served as a member of the Board of Directors and as Park Ridge President.  Denis has served as a board member of the Loins Charitable Foundation.

Patrick D. Owens

Patrick D. Owens was born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 17, 1971, and is an associate of Owens, Owens & Rinn, Ltd., a professional corporation, with offices at 444 North Northwest Highway, Park Ridge, Illinois.

Patrick received his pre-legal education at the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana, where he was awarded his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting in 1993. In addition, Patrick received his legal education at DePaul University, College of Law where he graduated with a Juris Doctor Degree in 1996. Currently, Patrick attends post-graduate night classes in taxation specializing in Estate and Personal Financial Planning at The John Marshall Law School. Patrick expects to complete his LL.M. in Taxation (Masters Degree in Tax Law) in the spring of 2002.

Patrick's experience includes working with numerous estates ranging from small nontaxable estates to large taxable estates. Patrick has been involved in the administration and supervision of these estates, probate and non-probate, from start to finish, including all tax returns and important detailed work. The experience Patrick gained from the estate administration side also aides in the estate planning area of the practice, with valuable practical experience gained from handling all aspects of pre and post mortem planning. Additionally, Patrick is very involved in both the residential and commercial real estate transactions in the office, handling many of the closings since he was admitted to the Illinois Bar.

NON-LEGAL:

Patrick is a member of the Park Ridge Jaycees. Patrick currently lives in the West Lincoln Park area of the North side of Chicago and is also a member of St. Vincent DePaul Church in Lincoln Park.  Additionally, Patrick is an avid triathlete, competing in sprint to half ironman distances and also a marathon runner.  Finally please congratulate Patrick on his marriage to Melanie Stone on May 11, 2002.

John V. Owens

John V. Owens was born in Evanston, Illinois, on November 6, 1962. John received his pre-legal education at Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter, Minnesota where he was awarded Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Accounting and Philosophy in 1984. John received his legal education from the University of Notre Dame where he graduated with a Juris Doctor Degree, 1987.

John was admitted to practice before the following Courts:

The United States District Court in 1987

John is currently a member of the Delta Theta Phi International Law Fraternity and the Chicago Bar Association. He is currently on leave with Chemonics International Inc. serving as Chief of Party of the United States Agency of International Development’s Microenterprise Access to Banking Services in Mindanao Project, having previously served in Jamaica and Bolivia.

John is based in Manila, Philippines where he lives with his wife, Pamela Owens.
